In my college days, I created a handful of fun YouTube videos to practice my craft as a writer, director and editor. I utilized my connections from the theater department and Digital Media Lab to round out the cast and gain access to camera equipment. From there, I created some simple and fun videos — this was not just for fun and to flesh out silly ideas, but to learn to operate a camera better and most of all, learning to better operate video editing software. These were the first steps towards what I have been building all these years.
One of my favorite videos from college is one I created to poke fun at the idea of beating up someone who so annoyingly uses their cell phone in the movie theater, during the movie — I also threw some Mortal Kombat into the video. It’s stupid, but I had fun making it. You can check that out below.
