I joined The Movie Mash back in 2009, an upstart movie website founded by Barrett Goetz. As a part of the team, I was in charge of writing about movies, managing The Movie Mash social media accounts, recruiting writers and editing articles from our staff.
Since its inception, the site had over 20 writers come and go, grew its audience both in terms of page views and social media influence and was given press accreditation to attend early screenings of movies along with all the biggest publications in the Twin Cities.
In my time writing for The Movie Mash, I acted as both a writer and managing editor, composed over 150 movie reviews and even interviewed movie stars like Anton Yelchin.
The website folded up shop late in 2016 as everyone on staff was pulled in new directions with families and careers.
“I’ve worked with Matthew in various capacities for a number of years, but mostly in our partnership in managing and writing for my film blog, TheMovieMash.com. Matt was an integral part of how TMM has been able to sustain 20,000+ monthly visitors for the better part of 5 years. Matthew pretty much ran the show from a content strategy, project management and writing capacity, becoming the architect of daily projects and deliverables, as well as long-term strategy.
In addition to his contributions to TMM, Matthew is also an incredibly talented and skilled filmmaker, producer, and videographer. Something that truly displays his compelling artistic vision and sensibilities.
With a unique combination skill set of writing, project management, digital marketing and film/video production, Matthew would certainly be an invaluable asset for any organization.
