I created this project for an animation class I took at the University of Minnesota. I took the class so I could get a better handle on animation and the program After Effects. I definitely learned a lot, specifically that After Effects is a tough program to master. Over the course of the semester we took baby steps to learn the basics of animation which culminated in this final project. I chose poker as the subject of my final project because I am a passionate poker player — Rounders was one of the first movies that I truly loved and poker has been something that has been a huge part of my life since 2004.
This project turned out pretty good considering I still am not a very good animator. I worked on creating subtle movements in both players in the animation, instead of struggling with big animated movements.
